CH and I tried Blue Apron for the first time a couple weeks ago and we enjoyed the experience. You can choose to order meals in a 2-person plan or a family plan from a weekly menu curated by their chefs. The ingredients are delivered to your home in exact portions with an instructional sheet that provides detailed guidelines to prepare and cook your meal. With the new year, I’ve decided to be a little more adventurous with my cooking and the 2 delicious recipes CH and I made through Blue Apron will be added to my personal collection of go-to recipes.

Basted Flank Steaks with Beet-Freekeh Salad & Gorgonzola

  • 2 Flank Steaks
  • 1 Bunch Baby Red Beets
  • 1 Hungarian Wax Pepper
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 Bunch Chives
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Crumbled Gorgonzola Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Walnuts
  • ¼ Cup Cracked Freekeh
  • ¼ Cup Red Wine Vinegar
