Project 365 – Day 38 (Yonas – One More Time)

The genre of hip hop comes in many forms and when I first heard Yonas, I was intrigued by his unique style. His lyrics are genuine and his content is relatable. Hailing from the Bronx, New York, Yonas carries the comfort, ease, and attitude of hip hop’s original neighborhood and is a rising artist we should watch for. The track “One More Time” is off his mixtape The Transition but his new album The Black Canvas was released this past monday on February 4, 2013.

“Too many times in music, and specifically Hip Hop and Rap, people feel the need to conform to what’s popular. I have no intention of doing that. Instead I look to really mold my own style, and take risks musically.” – Yonas

“I’m not a rapper, I’m an English architect”
